OODLES OF DOODLES

Hey there, awesome clients!

We've got some exciting news and a little bit of a hairy situation to share. Due to the overwhelming popularity of doodles in our area, our grooming salon is currently experiencing a doodle overload!  We've got more doodles than we can handle, and it's becoming a bit of a fur frenzy.

So, here's the scoop: We'll be taking a temporary break from accepting all sizes of doodles. We need to catch our breath and make sure we can give every pup the love and attention they deserve. We promise it's not a permanent "paws-off" situation, just a temporary pause to regroup and make room for all those fluffy doodles.

We know it's ruff news for doodle owners, but don't worry, we'll be back in the doodle game soon! In the meantime, we're here to pamper and primp all the other fabulous furry friends in our salon as long as they're under 50lbs.

If you have any questions or need recommendations for other groomers who specialize in doodles, just give us a bark! We're here to help.

Thanks for understanding and being the best clients ever!

SERVICES

SERVICES

BATH

DE-SHED

MINI GROOM

FULL GROOM

All of our packages include these things:

Shampoo, Conditioner, Glands [if needed], Blow-Dry, Nails,

Brush/De-Shed [according to coat type], Sanitary, Ears, and Cologne.

The main difference between the packages are how much hair is taken off. The amount of hair taken off will determine which package you will receive.

The bath package is for short hair dogs that do not receive any clipper or scissor work.

A de-shed is for double coated breeds that have more unwanted hair than normal. These dogs will need to be de-shedded and scissored in certain areas, like their feet and back ends.

A mini groom is more or less a feet, face and fanny. No clippers will be run over the body and the pup will keep the length of  hair they came in with, but will leave looking much more tidy.

A full groom is what most clients come in for. These dogs will need length taken off all over. Coat condition and client preference will determine how much length will be taken off.

This package is not recommended for double coated dogs as it will almost always damage their coat.

Disclaimer: if your pup is matted beyond repair it is necessary to shave them down. This is not a preferred process for anyone. Attempting to de-matt a severely matted dog may possibly result in bruising of the skin, brush burn and  nicks and scrapes. This is a very stressful and painful process and may create a dog that is scared to come to the groomer. We want to teach you to properly brush and comb your pup , so if you would like to learn please let us know! We will share our techniques for easy brushing and we will recommend the best tools and products for the job.

Please keep in mind that dogs do remember what happens at their spa day, whether it is a good or bad experience for them. We do try our hardest to make this a calm environment for your pup.

Or goal is for them to leave happy so that they will come in happy at their next visit.

ABOUT US

MY BACKGROUND

Hello! My name is Kelley Tuten and I am a Certified Professional Groomer. After having a brief stint in the medical field straight out of high school, I realized it wasn't for me and began looking for another industry to be involved in. That was when a friend asked me if I would be interested in a job at a pet salon.

I walked into work on my first day not knowing a thing about what really went on in a grooming salon.  Working as a bather I fell in love with being with the dogs everyday, so I decided that I wanted to learn how to groom. My career had chosen me and thankfully I had an excellent boss that was willing to teach me.

While I was learning to groom I went to trade shows and seminars and got my Certificate of Training in Pet CPR. Anyone can say they’re a Groomer, but I wanted the title to be official. As a bather I became a Certified Salon Professional through the International Professional Groomers program which requires a minimum of 300 hours of training and experience, a practical evaluation and a written exam. My next step was the one I had been waiting for the couple of years that I had been training, to obtain the title of a Certified Professional Groomer. To earn this title I needed a minimum of 600 hours of training and experience as well as pass a practical evaluation and a written exam.

Through my training, I have positioned myself and obtained the proper credentials to offer top quality dog grooming service. It has always been my dream to open my own grooming salon and in the summer of 2017 I founded Posh Paws Professional Grooming. I am extremely excited to earn new clients and build new relationships and show you what it means to turn your dog into a Posh Pup!
